Overview
This module examines tertiary and quaternary prevention strategies for VBDs. The focus will include recognizing signs and symptoms of tick bites, including assessing tick rashes on darker skin tones, and the diagnosis and treatment of Lyme disease. The module will explore how public health/community health nurses (PH/CHNs) and primary care nurses (PCNs) promote health equity with Indigenous communities when addressing VBDs. The module also highlights the role of public health in legislation and disease surveillance, alongside the role of primary care in managing tick bites. Additionally, the module outlines the roles and responsibilities of PH/CHNs and PCNs in collaboration with other sectors in addressing VBDs.
