Part of the National Voice

CASN member schools have the opportunity to be a part of the national voice for nursing education, research, and scholarship, and contribute to advocacy initiatives that support nursing education. They are invaluable to CASN’s ability to carry out its important mission. Through CASN, they also have access to the latest nursing education data, tools, resources, and exclusive networking opportunities where they learn from colleagues across the country and share best practices.

Administrators, faculty, and educators from CASN member schools can participate in CASN initiatives and programs, and receive discounts for CASN courses, certificate programs for nurse educators, conferences, and other events. Member schools receive exclusive discounts on job postings and advertising opportunities through CASN’s national network reaching over 100,000 followers. Select advertising options are free to member schools, such as newsletter articles.

What Our Members Say

Accreditation Means Excellence

CASN Accreditation promotes the excellence of nursing education programs. CASN’s Accreditation Seal provides national and international public recognition that a school of nursing has met national standards of excellence and is a valuable student recruitment advantage. CASN accredited schools benefit from an evolving program that keeps them current and consistent, flexible, culturally safe, and relevant to the needs of Canadian nurses today. CASN accreditation and support services are available exclusively to CASN member schools in good standing.

Take Part at Council

Each member of the CASN Council has one voting representative at the CASN Council meeting, which takes place every fall. The voting council member (or their delegate/proxy) votes on motions at the Council meeting/Annual General Meeting and votes in the elections on behalf of their school.

The Council meeting includes the Annual General Meeting and the Undergraduate/Graduate Education Forum. This is an opportunity to network with other administrators and educators from across the country, share ideas, and learn about best practices with respect to nursing education.
