The purpose of the CASN climate-driven vector-borne disease modules is to support current and future nurses in gaining the knowledge and skills needed to work with individual clients, communities, and populations across Canada in the prevention of vector-borne diseases at all levels. The learning outcomes within each module are linked directly to the Guidelines for Undergraduate Nursing Education on Climate-Driven Vector-Borne Diseases (v2.0 coming soon). They are evidence-informed and developed by nursing subject matter experts. The modules meet accessibility standards and are an easy-to-use, interactive teaching and learning tool.
Each learning module features a series of narrated slides paired with periodic reflection questions and interactive learning activities. These elements are designed to reinforce understanding and keep learners engaged throughout the experience. The module concludes with a cumulative knowledge check to help learners assess their mastery of the material. Learners are able to complete a virtual simulation at the each module to apply what they have learned. Each module will take approximately 30 to 60 minutes to complete. An estimated module completion time is provided in each module description.
