The Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN) congratulates Rani Srivastava, RN, PhD, FCAN, FTNSS, CASN President-Elect, on receiving the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) Values Award in recognition of her leadership in advancing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. The award honours nurses who have made significant contributions to health care and the nursing profession while exemplifying CNA's core values.
Throughout her career, Dr. Srivastava has been recognized for her contributions to cultural competence, anti-racism and health equity in nursing education and practice. As a nurse leader, educator, researcher, and author, she has worked with academic institutions, professional associations, and health care organizations to advance evidence-informed approaches to equity and inclusion. She has also contributed to the development of educational resources and practice guidance that support more inclusive environments for nurses, students, patients, and communities.
