CASN National Task Force on Artificial Intelligence in Nursing Education

The Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN) is seeking members for the CASN National Task Force on Artificial Intelligence in Nursing Education. Please review the following information and proposed terms of reference before completing the expression of interest (EOI) form. The EOI form will be reviewed by staff at the CASN National Office and will be kept confidential. Only those selected will be contacted and invited to join the task force.

Mandate

To develop guidelines for the safe, ethical, inclusive, and responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in nursing education, with consideration of implications for health professions education where relevant.

Statement of Inclusivity

CASN recognizes the value of diverse perspectives and experiences in advancing its mission and is committed to creating an inclusive culture of belonging. This task force aims to include representatives with relevant experience who are from different academic institutions across Canada with a diversity of lived and scholarly experiences, across a diversity of gender identities, gender expressions, sexual orientations, Indigenous identities, racialized identities, disabilities, and/or neurodivergences.

Representatives Sought:

  • Faculty, staff, or leaders from CASN members schools
    • One representative from each of the CASN member regions
  • Undergraduate or graduate student representatives, including one representative from the Canadian Nursing Students’ Association (CNSA) from a CASN member school
    • One representative from each of the CASN member regions
  • One CASN Board of Directors representative
  • Two representatives from non-nursing health professions education
  • One representative with relevant intersectoral expertise (e.g., engineering, communications, etc)
  • Two representatives from health authorities/employers, preferably with accreditation, regulation, and/or policy development experience
  • Two representatives from nursing regulators, preferably with accreditation, regulation, and/or policy development experience

Submission date

EOI submissions will be accepted until March 16, 11:59 p.m. PST. The form will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
