CASN’s Executive Director Appointed to AAAC Board of Directors

The Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN)  is pleased to announce that  Dr. Jean Daniel Jacob, RN, PhD, Executive Director of CASN, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Association of Accrediting Agencies of Canada (AAAC).

Accreditation has been a cornerstone of CASN’s work since 1987, ensuring that nursing education programs across Canada meet rigorous standards of quality and prepare graduates for safe, competent practice. Each year, CASN reviews more than a dozen programs, supporting continuous improvement and excellence in nursing education. In 1994, CASN further strengthened its leadership in quality assurance by co-founding AAAC, a national network representing accrediting bodies for over 20 professions.

AAAC plays a critical role in advancing professional education by fostering collaboration among accrediting organizations, promoting best practices, and advocating for the value of accreditation in maintaining public trust. Through AAAC, CASN collaborates with other accrediting bodies to ensure consistency, transparency, and innovation in accreditation processes—key elements for maintaining the quality of health professional education in Canada.

Dr. Jacob’s appointment reflects CASN’s ongoing commitment to accreditation and leadership in quality assurance. His extensive academic and governance experience, combined with a deep commitment to advancing nursing education and research, will contribute significantly to AAAC’s mission of supporting high standards across regulated professions.

”I am truly honoured to join the AAAC Board of Directors and contribute to its vital work in advancing accreditation across professions,” said Dr. Jean Daniel Jacob. “I look forward to collaborating with colleagues from diverse fields to strengthen quality assurance and uphold excellence in education for the benefit of the public.”
