32nd Margaret Scott Wright Research Day

Conference Date:  November 2, 2018
Conference Location:  The Westin Hotel

Keynote Speaker
Professor Tanya McCance, Director for the Institute of Nursing and Health Research, Faculty of Life and Health Sciences, Ulster University, Northern Ireland

Have you ever wondered what your colleagues, their students and research teams are currently focusing on in their research endeavours to further nursing and health knowledge? Here is your opportunity!

We are now accepting research abstracts and registrations for an exciting and inspiring 32nd Annual Margaret Scott Wright (MSW) Research Day, co-led by the University of Alberta Faculty of Nursing and the Mu Sigma Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau (STTI) Honor Society of Nursing and in collaboration with MacEwan University and Alberta Health Services. The goal of the 2018 MSW planning committee is to maximize opportunities for faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, and clinicians in our community and beyond to showcase their research and be inspired by others and their research.

We especially encourage first time presenters to engage in this supportive, engaging, and encouraging environment. Oral presentations will feature completed research while poster presentations will include completed research, as well as research in progress and proposed.

As we celebrate 100 years of nursing education at the University of Alberta, the keynote speaker, Professor Tanya McCance, will focus on the conference theme “Looking Back with Pride, Looking Forward with Promise”.  While much has changed in nursing in 100 years, much remains constant. The nurse-person relationship is one example. Professor McCance has an international reputation in the development of person-centered practice through the use of participatory research approaches such as practice development and action research.  Her keynote as well as every other presentation offers us reasons to be hopeful about nursing’s promising future.

Please submit an abstract now and encourage others to do the same!
