| Proposed New Entry-to-Practice Nursing Exam: Position Statement | | | | CASN has received multiple messages of dismay from educators across the country regarding a recent decision by ten Canadian nursing regulatory bodies to replace the CRNE with a new entry-to-practice exam developed by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) in the United States. The CASN Board of Directors has concerns about the potential risks to the quality of nursing education in Canada that may result from this decision and is releasing a Position Statement regarding this issue, please see the attachment. CASN is requesting that the Regulatory Bodies put their negotiations with the NCSBN in the United States on hold until a collaborative framework involving educators is developed.
