Call for Abstracts

The School of Nursing at York University is inviting abstract submissions for presentation at the 3rd annual Research Day to be held on Friday, October 15, 2010 at York University in Toronto. This national conference presents an opportunity for the dissemination and discussion of research findings that have the potential to improve patient care. All conference submissions will be peer reviewed. We welcome presentations from scholars, students, and practitioners on a range of research topics exploring best practice evidence for patient care. Nursing professionals, allied health clinicians, researchers, and graduate students in all disciplines are encouraged to submit abstracts on completed research or works in progress for symposia, workshops, individual papers, or poster presentations. Areas of focus for the conference are: Wellness and healing across the lifespan; from research to practice; translating evidence to policy; nursing education; and nursing leadership and practice.

Guidelines for abstract submission:

Presentation Types (Please indicate the preferred format for your abstract presentation):

  • Individual oral presentations: 20 minutes in total
  • Symposium—group of 3 oral theme-focused presentations: 60 minutes in total
  • Workshops: 60 minutes in total
  • Poster presentations (will be on display throughout the day; poster presenters are required to attend their posters during refreshment breaks to answer questions)
