The Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing 3rd Annual Research Day: Advancing Research for Health in our Global Community Monday, June 7, 2010, Ryerson University Call for Abstracts The Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing at Ryerson University is inviting abstract submissions for presentation at the 3rd annual Research Day to be held on Monday, June 7, 2010 at Ryerson University in Toronto. We welcome abstracts describing completed research or research in progress (including student theses) on a broad range of priority issues relevant to advancing health across local and global communities. Priority issues include: socio-economic determinants of health; public and population health; health policy; evidence-based practice; and education. Keynote Speaker: Dr. Judy Mill Associate Dean, Global Health, in the Faculty of Nursing, University of Alberta Director for PAHO/WHO Collaborating Centre for Nursing and Mental Health Guidelines for abstract submission: Abstracts should be submitted electronically by completing the attached submission template. (Please e-mail abstracts to nursing.researchday@ryerson.ca.) Abstracts will be made available in the conference program, which will be distributed at the conference and online. Presenters’ names and institutional affiliation should not be included on the abstract itself in order to allow for blind peer review. Abstracts should be no more than 250 words in length and should include: - Background and purpose for the study
- Methods (including sample and data collection)
- Results (if applicable)
- Conclusions and implications for nursing
Please note that abstracts longer than 250 words will not be reviewed. Please indicate if the preferred format for your abstract presentation is oral or poster. Oral presentations will be 15 minutes in length followed by 5 minutes for questions. Abstracts describing research in progress will be considered for poster presentation only. Abstracts not accepted for oral presentation will be considered for poster presentation.
