Revised November 2006
Introduction
The CASN Accreditation Bureau’s (formerly the CASN Board of Accreditation) assessment of each accreditation review application includes an assessment for CASN accreditation fees according to the CASN Accreditation Fee Schedule. Based on the school’s application and submitted information, the Accreditation Bureau determines what each school will pay to participate in an accreditation review. The Accreditation Bureau always presents a detailed rationale for accreditation fees charged to a school. If dissatisfied with the fee assessment, the school of nursing can appeal the assessment by presenting their rationale for consideration by the Accreditation Bureau. If the school and the Accreditation Bureau cannot reach consensus on the fee assessment, the CASN Executive Committee will determine what accreditation fees will be charged to the School.

- ii. If the withdrawal occurs 6 to 11 months before the scheduled review date, a 10% penalty fee applies;

- v. If the withdrawal occurs after the on-site visit, a full accreditation fee penalty applies.
Adjustments to Accreditation Fees In order to be eligible for an adjustment to accreditation fees, schools of nursing in collaborative partnerships that foresee staggered timing for their accreditation reviews must notify the CASN Accreditation Bureau in writing, and provide the year when each partner will have a graduating class and the anticipated date for each partner’s accreditation review. Under certain circumstances, the Accreditation Bureau may modify how the fee schedule is applied, for example in cases of collaborative partnerships when accreditation reviews may be staggered. Accreditation fee adjustments will not apply to the first accreditation review of the collaborative partnership; however, if approved by the Accreditation Bureau, the fee adjustment below can be applied to accreditation reviews scheduled within a two year period subsequent to the first accreditation review of the collaborative partnership program.
In order to act in a fair and consistent manner when making future accreditation fee assessments, the Accreditation Bureau will always reference previous cases where fee modifications were made.
Criteria for Adjustment to Accreditation Fees - Within the collaboration, one collaborative partner has paid the full accreditation fee of $7000.00; and,
- Accreditation reviews are staggered over a maximum two year period.
Fee Adjustment for Collaborative Programs - Application Fee $500.00 for each site/partner

Please note the following: - Accreditation fees are subject to change, and schools of nursing will be notified of current fees prior to commencement of accreditation process.
