Conference Location: The Westin Hotel
Barbara Pesut, Associate Professor, University of British Columbia
Have you ever wondered what your colleagues, their students and research teams are currently focusing on in their research endeavours to further nursing and health knowledge? Here is your opportunity! We are ready to receive research abstracts and registrations for an exciting and inspiring 31st Annual Margaret Scott Wright (MSW) Research Day, co-led by the University of Alberta Faculty of Nursing and the Mu Sigma Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau (STTI) Honor Society of Nursing. Additional co-sponsors include MacEwan University and Alberta Health Services. The goal of the 2017 MSW planning committee is to maximize opportunities for faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, and clinicians in our community and beyond to showcase their research and be inspired by others and their research. Abstracts for oral and poster presentations on a wide variety of health related topics are welcome; there will be approximately 50 oral and 40 poster presentations. We especially encourage first time presenters to engage in this supportive, engaging, and encouraging environment. Oral presentations will feature completed research while poster presentations will include completed research, as well as research in progress and proposed. The keynote speaker, Dr. Barbara Pesut, and the closing panel presentation will focus on the conference theme “Research and Inspiration”. These speakers will offer opportunities for participants to ponder the following questions: “who or what inspires me and my research?”; “how does my research inspire others?”; “who or what will inspire future research?”. Please submit an abstract now and encourage others to do the same!
